Feyenoord, Stadion Feijenoord, and the Association of Shareholders of Stadion Feijenoord (VASF) have reached a general agreement on the terms under which Feyenoord will acquire a 95% stake in the stadium. The club announced this through its official channels. This will allow the unification of Feyenoord and Stadion Feijenoord to proceed.
The club is paying nearly €3.7 million to acquire 80,635 new shares in the Stadion. “Feyenoord is committed to the Stadion to making three to five million euros available annually for necessary investments over the next ten years, in addition to paying the regular rent.” Shareholders will also be able to enjoy their free seat rights and related rights for another fifteen years.
“The shareholders can then exchange their shares for a freely tradable Seat License, which entitles them to purchase a season ticket for thirty years (until 2071) under the then-current terms.” Alternatively, Feyenoord is willing to buy back a number of shares from the shareholders annually at “a price that decreases over time.” The main terms of the agreement will be further developed in the coming weeks and will be submitted for approval to the shareholders and certificate holders of Feyenoord Stadium in February 2026.
Dennis te Kloese is thrilled with the deal. “With this agreement, we’re finally taking the crucial step toward the long-awaited unification of the club and stadium. This is crucial for the future of the stadium and the club’s continued development, and the agreements also honor the special position of the shareholders as the stadium’s original financiers. This is therefore excellent news for all Feyenoord fans.”
Lilian de Leeuw, director of Feyenoord Stadium, is also delighted. “It’s fantastic that we’ve reached an agreement in principle on the unification. A historic step that fulfills a long-held wish of Feyenoord, the stadium, and the supporters. I’m pleased that the shareholders are expressing their support. We can now start the necessary maintenance at De Kuip in the short term.”
“The V-shareholders also understand the desire, if not the necessity, for unification,” VASF chairman Conré Oostrom noted. “We have always been willing to consider this, but of course, the rights and interests of the V-shareholders had to be sufficiently taken into account. After a series of discussions with the BVO, during which we as VASF were able to achieve significant improvements for our members, we will soon have a fair package that we can present to the V-shareholders with a positive voting recommendation.”
