Jaime Faria enters the world top 150 for the first time

Portuguese tennis player Jaime Faria entered the top 150 of the ATP rankings for the first time on Monday, rising to 147th place, after losing the final of the Valencia Challenger in Spain.

The good performance in the Valencian tournament allowed Faria, 21, to climb 21 places and place himself among the 150 best tennis players in the world, after having started 2024 outside the top 400.

Without playing since the United States Open in August, Nuno Borges remains 32nd in the world, while Henrique Rocha rose one place and is 162nd in the ATP hierarchy.The top of the ranking remains unchanged, with Italian Jannik Sinner, who won the Shanghai Masters 1,000, in the lead, ahead of Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and German Alexander Zverev, second and third, respectively.

Portuguese Francisca Jorge rose 10 places and is now 187th in the world
 , in a women’s ranking led by Polish Iga Swiatek, with Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka in second place, with American Coco Gauff rising to third place, swapping places with compatriot Jessica Pegula.
