Portugal all available at St. Mirren for clash with Scotland

The Portugal national team had its final training session before Tuesday’s clash with Scotland for the Nations League, in a session in which Roberto Martínez had all 26 players called up.

The match for the fourth round of Group A1 will be held at the legendary Hampden Park, but Portugal ended up training at the St. Mirren Stadium, 20 kilometres from Glasgow, home of the current sixth-placed team in the Scottish League, an old-style British venue with stands on the pitch and a capacity for eight thousand people. On a sunny day in Scotland, during the first 15 minutes of training, which were open to the media, the national coach had everyone at his disposal, with the players, during that period, carrying out the usual warm-up exercises, first without the ball and then with the ball.

Portugal is looking for its first victory in an official match on Scottish soil and can guarantee qualification for the quarter-finals of the Football Nations League, if it beats the British and Poland slips up at home to Croatia.

Qualification can also happen with a draw, but for that to happen the Poles have to lose in Warsaw.

Scotland-Portugal is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:45pm at Hampden Park in Glasgow and will be refereed by Belgian Lawrence Visser.
