Vitesse supporters unwell due to smoke pots after derby against De Graafschap

About thirty Vitesse supporters became unwell when they were travelling back to the GelreDome stadium in Arnhem in buses after the match against De Graafschap in Doetinchem. They may have felt ill because they had inhaled smoke from smoke pots during the match.

The supporters who became unwell were in six different buses, the safety region reported on x. Several ambulances and fire engines came to the Vitesse stadium to provide assistance.

Ambulance staff checked all the people. Three people were taken to hospital. Supporters are advised to stay in the fresh air and to contact their GP if symptoms persist.

The complaints are probably due to smoke pots that were set off by fans of both teams during the match, the safety region reports.
