Yesterday portugal beat Poland 3-1 in Warsaw

Portugal: Another triumph (1-3) for the Portuguese national team, this time in Warsaw, after putting in a good performance against Poland and moving closer to the quarter-finals of the Football Nations League.

Poland initially created some dangerous chances, but Portugal quickly got into the game, had a shot hit the bar and almost scored from a shot by Bruno Fernandes from the edge of the box. The National Team controlled the game as they wanted, trying to score in Warsaw.

In defence, Robert Lewandowski still had a shot near Diego Costa’s goal but was duly ruled out at the time of the decision.

Portugal responded effectively through Bernardo Silva, who scored the 0-1 in the 26th minute. Before half-time, captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored the second goal (0-2) in the 37th minute.

In the second half, Portugal had a number of missed opportunities, focused on keeping possession and the Poles were motivated by a goal from Zielinski (1-2) just over 10 minutes from the end.

As the final whistle approached, Portugal made it 1-3, with an own goal, a result that gave the National Team some rest.

With another win, Portugal now has nine points from three games, moving away once again from Croatia (6 points), who beat Scotland at home this Saturday, still 0-0, while Poland has three points.

Portugal faces Scotland on Tuesday in the fourth round of the Nations League/qualifying for the 2026 European Championship.

Portugal won the first edition of the Nations League, in 2019, but then failed to qualify for the “final four” in 2020/21 and 2022/23.
